After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha with enriching
stops in Thimphu. Highlights include the towering Buddha Dordenma,
National Memorial Chorten, Trashi Chhoe Dzong, and the Folk Heritage
Museum.
Climbing higher, you’ll cross the spectacular Dochu La Pass at 3,000m,

subtropical Punakha Valley, where serene landscapes await.
Day 3: Exploring Punakha Valley
Start your day with a peaceful walk to Chimmi Lhakhang, the famed
fertility temple of Bhutan’s “Divine Madman.” Continue on to the
majestic Punakha Dzong, a 17th-century masterpiece and winter residence
of the Je Khenpo and monks.
After lunch, hike through rural farms and pine forests to Khamsum Yulley
Namgyal Chorten, a temple built by Bhutan’s royal family. This day
combines cultural heritage with scenic immersion.
Day 4: Punakha to Paro via Chuzom and Tamchog Lhakhang
Retrace your route across Dochu La Pass, stopping to soak in the views
once more. At Chuzom, the meeting point of two rivers, admire three
unique shrines reflecting Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepali styles.
If time allows, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang, built by the legendary
bridge-builder Thangtong Gyalpo. Upon reaching Paro, spend your evening
trying Bhutan’s national sport—archery—at COMO Uma Paro.
Day 5: Paro Valley Cultural Circuit
Begin with a hike through pine forests to Zurig Dzong, continuing to Ta
Dzong, home of the National Museum, and onward to Rinpung Dzong. Cross
the traditional wooden Nyamai Zam bridge before wandering past the
town’s lively archery grounds.
Later, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples with its
magical ever-fruiting orange tree, and, if time permits, explore the
historic Drukgyel Dzong.
Day 6: Taktsang ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery Hike
Take on Bhutan’s most iconic experience: the hike to Taktsang Monastery.
Trek 2–3 hours uphill through pine forests, prayer flags, and waterfalls
